Five books, eighteen worlds

The spines of The Librarians Books 1 to 4 stacked in front of blurred bluebells.

How many worlds can you visit through the Catalogue? After five books, the answer is eighteen.

  1. Lofjaerok: The Ice Age Wars - elves, giants, dwarves, and fae are engaged in a centuries-long war over dwindling natural resources that provide their kingdoms with power and warmth to survive the ice climate.

  2. Faelineyre - the woodland fae realm has been infected by dark magic from the banned books and the tree that provides life to their forest is dying.

  3. Malum Memoriae - a cemetery inhabited by readers who have become trapped inside the book. To survive, they exchange memories with new readers who find the cemetery. But the memories function like drugs and the cemetery's residents are slowly rotting from the inside.

  4. Dhaholoseum - an island inhabited by criminals. People dropped onto the island are required to earn their citizenship through gladiator games. The losers are fed to a monster beneath the island to power the electrical grid.

  5. Nalusyre - a card game of deception inside a gothic manor. Every player has a partner with their card's match. To win the game and escape the manor, players must find out who their partner is and discover their darkest secret. If a player's secret is discovered, they lose.

  6. Dhomhanfirun - the darkest night of the year is approaching in this Nordic inspired village. The barrier between the living and the dead grows thin, and the village's goddess is vengeful. To appease her, the villagers must root out the deceiver in their midst and sacrifice them to the goddess. If they fail, the underworld's monsters will be set loose.

  7. Khuzhadhil - in this science fiction inspired world, the rich live above ground and the poor live below the surface on levels owned and operated by criminal organizations. They trade in three things: weapons, people, and banned books.

  8. Livaathukin - dragons have taken up residence in the mountains outside this Northern fishing village. Every year, they demand payment from the village. If the townspeople don't meet the yearly quota, the dragons will unleash fire and death upon the village.

  9. Morsania Circo - the Ringmaster rules over this dark circus world, and once readers enter the circus...they may find that it's impossible to leave. The Ringmaster has promised the neighboring towns that he will save them from the night terrors living in the forest. But he requires payment. And he needs performers for his circus.

  10. Clysaeocht Foe Nyx Gaelok - in this trickster fae world, humans found in the forest are conscripted into a tournament. If they win, the fae gift them with their heart's desire. But if they lose...

  11. City of Nightmares - in this industrial world modeled after the worlds of Charles Dickens, there is a gang war going on between the vampires and the basilisk shifters that run the city. But now there's a serial killer on the loose.

  12. United States of Okean - Orwell's 1984 and Huxley's Brave New World collide in this cityscape. Addicts have overrun the city and the local government is on the hunt for organic ocular material to power its surveillance system. What happens to the addicts who disappear? And who introduced the drugs into the city in the first place?

  13. Valhaerion - Valhaerion's queen rose to power from the dregs of society and banished all the men from her kingdom. To gain power, she ventured into the mountains and made a deal with a demon. Now, she must protect her kingdom from an army of men at the Northern Border.

  14. Annales di Allessanthiyra - a forgotten Library, modeled after the Library of Alexandria, and filled with every book ever written. The Library exists outside of time and space, and the First Librarian holds the secret to the Library's history.

  15. Dilethisante - in this Southern Gothic city inspired by New Orleans, a religious patriarch has taken over the city and exiled the witches who previously presided over its streets.

  16. Enclave of Aelwyth and Dweorunn - fae, woodland sprites, dwarves, and hundreds of other fantastic creatures meet once a year for the Enclave. And deep inside the Elven queen's forest castle, a centuries-old secret hides that could turn the Library on its head.

  17. Andamvalhales - The Central Library's Guardians keep to their fortress at the top of this mountainous world, inspired by the sprawling landscapes of the Andes Mountains. But when Foundation's Librarians arrive at their doorstep in search of an alliance, they put the decision to a vote.

  18. Ryūshaan - The Library's Eastern Block has stayed removed from the politics of its Western counterparts. But the Eastern Block has watched from afar, cautious of wading into a war in which it would risk repeating its own bloody history.
